Today, 8th March is International Women’s Day but what is it and why is it so important?
Observed since the early 1900’s, International Women’s Day is a day of recognition and celebration of women globally, a day which provides a moment in time to raise awareness and highlight the struggle of gender equality for females across the world. The movement of IWD extends far beyond the day itself though, as women around the world continue to fight for their rights every day. Through the power of protesting and social media, women are finally making waves, inspiring and empowering each new generation of young girls.
